Dreaded Clowns in Roanoke

Post by Techmomof2 »

If anyone does this to me, one of us will be in the hospital, the other in jail.

Roanoke police are investigating after two juveniles reported that men wearing clown masks emerged from a car and chased them Friday.

The children told police they were walking in the 1700 block of Gordon Avenue Southeast about 6:30 p.m. when they saw a red Honda sedan parked on the side of the road, police spokesman Scott Leamon said. Two men wearing clown masks exited the car and chased them a short distance.

The children said the masked men were holding objects in their hands, but detectives are still trying to determine the identity of those objects and the men, Leamon said.

The report from Roanoke is among a rash of encounters people have had with clowns across the country. Since August, people in states including South Carolina, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York and Georgia have reported scary or suspicious incidents with people dressed as clowns.

This a new phenomenon I guess. There are people that are scared of clowns. My nephew is terrified of the Hokiebird. I was holding him at the walk and he wouldn't let me put him down for fear that the Hokiebird was going to come up to him. He put the five year old death grip on me.
My women clients think I'm so sweet.

High school kids would think it's great fun as copycats, but those photos lurking in the woods don't look like that age group. I hate clowns (watched too many scary movies). Plus these clowns (pun intended) don't know who has their Concealed Carry. Someone is going to get hurt.

1. Those look like teenagers.
2. If they are trying to "lure children into the woods" they are doing an awfully bad job dressed in scary clown costumes. What in this picture would "lure" a kid towards them?

I completely agree that these idiots are potentially putting their lives at risk if they threaten the wrong person. I just think the whole "child predator trying to lure kids into the woods" is facebook soccer mom ridiculousness. Just thinking of a random example......operating an underprivileged youth football camp under the auspices of a local coaching icon would be a much more realistic scenario.

The bigger threat is say a group based on sexual orientation attempting to get involved with sports. Total sexual predator alert.

I don't get the alarm. Seems like a prank that's working as people are freaking out over a Halloween costume. I think I'm doing the creepy clown this year, Violator from Spawn :) speaking of which, they should make a new Spawn movie.

In a country where everybody carries, according to the MSM, a dreaded clown might not be the safest of things. :D

Fort Wayne police were called just after 12:30 p.m. Friday to an address at 47o1 Plaza Dr., near Standish Street just south of McMillen Park, on a report of a shooting there. When police arrived they found a man down on the sidewalk in critical condition.

McDonald's says Ronald McDonald is keeping a low profile with reports of creepy clown sightings on the rise.
McDonald's Corp. said Tuesday that it is being 'thoughtful in respect to Ronald McDonald's participation in community events' as a result of the 'current climate around clown sightings in communities'.
