Disturbing about poor ole Jesse Jr…..
Hard to believe this, but nothing really surprises me about this administration and the scamming of the American public.
Jesse Jackson, Jr. 17 year veteran of the US Congress, suddenly gets a "mood disorder" (about the same time he learned he was to be indicted) and is going to prison for 2.5 years. Because his "mood disorder" was so severe, he has become disabled and will receive $8700 per month as a disability payment as well as $45000 a year from his congressional pension, a total of about $150K per year.

What am I missing? Why does he get $8700 for the "disability"? Is it based on his congressional pay?

A man is no less a slave because he is allowed to choose a new master once in a term of years.

It must be private disability insurance - the maximum Social Security disability payment is $2500. There are plenty of private insurances you can buy, though.

Hi RWNJ and welcome to the new UWS. Do you mind if I ask who you were on the old UWS?

So it's government disability pay. Anyone know why he gets so much?

Re: Disturbing about poor ole Jesse Jr…..
From googling around, federal employees who go on disability get 40% of their pay. I'm guessing/assuming that's where this is coming from.
That's just absurd that a congressperson is eligible for that.

Unless my math is wrong, that would be $261k, which is $90k more than the standard pay.
