Good luck with this Mr. Dictator.....

Post by HokieHam »

The Obama administration is proposing a new rule to address unequal pay practices by requiring companies with more than 100 employees to submit salary data by race, gender and ethnicity.

So if your supervisor is Mr. Cho and your company reports that it has three Asian males making $52K, $53K, and $200K, you now know how much your supervisor makes and how much two of your coworkers make?

Good grief. Nothing bad can come of that.

Not to mention, it's just stupid. Studies have shown the gap is due to length of service, education, etc.

This is the wrong way to address differences in pay.

Which is typical for everything done by this "administration".

I agree. He should just tell everyone out there that when you earn less you get paid less. There is no gap.

There are no differences in pay. Even if there was, it's none of the government's concern.

Many years ago when I worked for Litton, the union was trying to get in and they published everyone's salary and passed it out at the entrance to the buildings. An employee at Litton furnished them the data. Caused a lot of dissension among the hourly personnel but not enough to vote them in. BTW, the employee was fired and found it very difficult to find another job. Dumb arse.
