Texas Supreme Court dismisses Perry indictment

Post by BigDave »

In a 6-2 decision, the Texas Supreme Court dismissed the charges against Perry. And the two dissenting judges really dissented more for procedural reasons - that pretrial wasn't the right time to raise the issue - rather than an actual endorsement of the indictment.

Leftist prosecutors who engage in meritless political prosecutions themselves need to be prosecuted for abuse of power. This prosecution was completely without merit and without a good faith basis. No serious person of any political persuasion agreed with the indictment. When prosecutors are allowed to indict political opponents on baseless charges, we do not have a free and open society - we have a dictatorship where the party in charge of the prosecutors can silence any dissent or opposition.

I never did grok that whole fiasco...just seemed to be a monumental red herring from the get go.
I only post using 100% recycled electrons.
