This mess is going on right across the river from me. Duckworth has been using her situation as a reason why her views are not allowed to be criticized.
Her opponent ran an add showing her saying she wanted to bring 10 times the number of refugees from Syria as the administration has promised. Her response was an ad where she said he is attacking her and she is a disabled vet. Never claimed he distorted her statement, or anything like that. Just she's a disabled vet and he's attacking her.
So we are no longer allowed to criticize the views or actions of someone because they are vets? I guess it's like the idea that anyone who disagrees with Barry's policies are racists.

Looks like the only thing 1984 got wrong was the date.

I agree with your premise. It's like when people criticized the Iraq War and/or the War on Terror early in the Bush Administration, they were labeled unpatriotic traitors, subject to outrage, etc. These discussions and debates should be had without faux outrage or upsetting people's sensitivities.Vienna_Hokie wrote:So we are no longer allowed to criticize the views or actions of someone because they are vets? With their Cap’n and Chief Intelligence Officer having deserted them, River, Ham and Joe valiantly continue their whataboutismistic last stand of the DJT apology tour.

I think most politicians would be great drinking buddies. They have to be good 'talkers'.ip_law-hokie wrote:I still maintain that Joe Biden would make the best drinking buddy.Hokie5150 wrote:Just being (Vice) Presidential...

As long as Biden keeps his shot gun at home I can't think of anybody better in DC to hoist one with.
I only post using 100% recycled electrons.
