BLM Blocks Highway When Ambulance Comes Through, and THEN…

When Black Lives Matter stages one of their “protests” and blocks a major highway, they’re not just making a social statement – they’re possibly risking lives.
That’s what happened Sunday night in Memphis as a group of BLM Agitators moved to shut down the Interstate 40 bridge. Hundreds of them gathered and blocked traffic for several hours.
It started about 6 p.m., forcing traffic to a standstill – including a car carrying a sick child.
“We received a call there was a child needing medical attention stuck in traffic up on the bridge and due to the protest going on the bridge the family was not able to get through traffic to get him to Le Bonheur [Hospital],” Paramedic Bobby Harrell said.
Here’s a grainy photo showing the handoff of the child to paramedics, FoxCarolina is reporting.
“The sheriff’s department had to escort us up the wrong way of the interstate to the child,” he said.
Harrell said after he had the very sick child in the ambulance, the driver had to go 25 minutes out of the way.
“We had to turn around and come back to West Memphis and cross over at MLK to get over to 55.”
Harrell said he knew about the protests on the bridge and had plans to route people to other hospitals and avoid the bridge. Little did he know he’d get the call for a sick baby on the bridge.
“It was kind of tense. I really didn’t know what to expect going up there.”
Harrell said he got the child to Le Bonheur just in time. The child’s father stayed with the family’s car and was eventually able to get there.
Protests and disturbances like this have consequences. Let’s hope they remember that the next time they plan a major disruption.
