Honestly? It was a big deal. The right wing media and websites yapped a lot about those issues, but she lost a lot of voters when she called a large swath of America deplorables. Look at the places where she is losing states that have been solid Dem, the "blue wall".
These ppl care about what ppl actually say. I'm sure a lot of them cared about the other stuff, but this is something that came straight from her mouth, and straight to people's neighbors and friends and family.

The funny thing about all of these conversations is that it assumes that voters are sheep that simply respond to silly one liners. How about the fact that Trump campaigned on specific things that meant something to voters. More jobs, repealing obammacare, etc. Hillary had nothing other than Trump is a mean person. She had no vision, never laid out what she believed in.
