Just so we're clear here, Mueller's charter is to investigate Russian collusion to interfere with the election. The best he can come up with is a procedural crime comitted AFTER the election.

True. Mueller IS dirty, going back to Obama's first term. He's on a government sanctioned fishing expedition, trolling for marlin and sailfish. After almost a year he was able to snag a catfish bottom feeding. A gigantic waste of time, but hey, at least he's justified the tens of millions of dollars his crew of democrats have spent.UpstateSCHokie wrote:Just so we're clear here, Mueller's charter is to investigate Russian collusion to interfere with the election. It was a Brian Ross story. Only a low info person would have believed it to begin with. Remember, it was Brian Ross that immediately blamed the Tea Party for the Colorado shooting before doing any sort of confirmation like real journalists do. That guy has zero credibility, but I guess that's par for the course at ABC.HokieHam wrote:Yup. See my post aboveUSN_Hokie wrote:ABC had to correct / retract their original report. Re: Michael Flynn
So in late December, after the election, in reaction to the Obama administration putting additional sanctions on Russia, Flynn met with the Russian Ambassador and told him not to "escalate the situation", then reported the meeting to Trump transition team members. Is this the gist of it? This is the smoking gun that is going to take down Trump?

Yes, politics. It's been happening since Bill Clinton. Making claims that there are 2 sets of rules is ludicrous. Clinton was impeached for lying. Flynn is charged for lying. And both Bush and Obama had to endure their opponents trying to find ways to get them out of office, including calls for impeachment.133743Hokie wrote:Andrew McCarthy sums it up nicely...pure politics trying to remove Trump.RiverguyVT wrote:HokieFanDC wrote:He didn't plead guilty to procedural malfeasance. I'll give you a hint. Private citizens can have conversations with officials from Great Britain. They can't have conversations with officials from Russia. I'll leave it to you to figure out the difference between those 2 countries.
As for Flynn, he can certainly have conversations with Russia, in the context of what Sean Spicer said he did (we know now that Spicer was also lying out of his butt), but discussing sanctions with them is a no-no, and has the smell of a quid pro quo. That is the reason that he, and other Trump team members, have lied about their contacts with Russia over and over. They knew what they were doing, and got caught.
Is it the worst crime ever committed? No. But it's still a big deal, and anyone who wants to talk about "draining the swamp", has zero credibility if they think Trump is going to do that.

You are correct of course. Trump and Obama have a lot of similar traits, and you can add Hillary to the mix too.
The only problem with your triggered auto response is that I don't support any of the three. But at least you admit that your guy isn't any better than Obama.

Clinton committed a crime. Why would you excuse this?
The article is about special prosecutor's and their roles. Starr did the same thing, expanded his investigation, in an attempt to get Clinton. It worked.
And the idea that there was nothing at all for Mueller to look into, is silly. When you start asking questions, and people start lying to you, that's evidence of something that isn't kosher. McCarthy doesn't think it is based on any criminality, or evidence that there was a crime committed. That's an opinion, not a fact. The Trump admin's actions, and lies, are not normal, and they were very deceptive in their communications with Russia, who happened to be interfering in the election. A normal person would find that odd.
