I'm sure you'd be cool with a white's only screening of a movie right? Or how about a straight-only screening?nolanvt wrote:C'mon, guys. Don't be such pussies about this.

Personally I don't care about this, but I find you accusing others of being "snowflakes" to be quite ironic.

I don't mind who gets invited to a theater's special event. I just like making fun of guys who are big enough pussies to B&M over a screening.UpstateSCHokie wrote:I'm sure you'd be cool with a white's only screening of a movie right? Please link to a post where I allegedly said according to you I would have a problem with who a theater would invite to its special event. It's so much of a lock that it didn't occur that CFB would place a -1000 moneyline bet on it.awesome guy wrote: No you're not.

There are hundreds of pages of your babbling on the subject. Can't blame you for not reading them as they're rather retarded.nolanvt wrote:Please link to a post where I allegedly said according to you I would have a problem with who a theater would invite to its special event. Obviously, Nolan doesn't mind it, except when it comes to gheys. He's made it blatantly obvious in this post and another.Hokie5150 wrote:Discrimination is a good thing isn't it?nolanvt wrote:C'mon, guys. Don't be such pussies about this.

given that it's against tbe law for a theater to discriminate by gender in NY, what again is the problem with him buying a ticket and quietly watching the movie?nolanvt wrote:C'mon, guys. Don't be such pussies about this.

An invitation-only movie screening is not a public event.Homebrew wrote:it is a public event, theater must abide by the laws for it.nolanvt wrote:You got the wrong person. Now, if the theater decided it wasn't going to show the movie to males for some reason once general tickets were offered to the public, then there would be an issue.

nope. Thie chain is based there, the theater is in NY.Major Kong wrote:Austin, TX.Homebrew wrote:given that it's against tbe law for a theater to discriminate by gender in NY, what again is the problem with him buying a ticket and quietly watching the movie?

You don't understand what a screening is. Screenings tend to be exclusive events with a select audience in mind. I support theaters choosing to host whoever they want for screenings.Homebrew wrote:it's not a private event, tickets were sold to the public online.nolanvt wrote:It would be an issue to me if it weren't a private event.Hokie5150 wrote:Discrimination is a good thing isn't it?nolanvt wrote:C'mon, guys. Now, when the movie comes out for the general public, the theater can't discriminate on the basis of gender.

This exclusive event is exclusive like a Ford Explorer Limited is limited. The whole thing is a publicity stunt.nolanvt wrote:You don't understand what a screening is. A publicity stunt, it may be, but it's not illegal and I don't have a problem with having exclusive audiences for special events.USN_Hokie wrote:This exclusive event is exclusive like a Ford Explorer Limited is limited. You don't understand what a screening is. Hint, it's still public with tickets sold in this case. No one is shocked that you've managed to spin yourself into supporting discrimination for a liberal pet, once again.nolanvt wrote:You don't understand what a screening is. When I bought tickets for the We Are Marshall screening at the Pullman Square Theater, it stated you had to be a Marshall student and have your school ID at the entrance to be allowed in.awesome guy wrote: You don't understand what a screening is. This theater is allowed to have similar restrictions for a similar special event for a select audience in mind, and I agree they should have that freedom. The last thing I want is a Government mandating who we invite to special events.
