The Fringe Left Is Perpetrating Violence, While the "Respectable" Left Justifies Violence, Excuses It, and Promotes It
—Ace

Ever notice the left never patrols its own side for crazies, conspiracists, and assassination-fantasists?

Yet those on the right are always being demanded to do just that -- in fact, it's now so ingrained in us we do it without it even being asked of us.

At some point a dog learns the length of its leash, and knows, innately, what its master expects of it.

Meanwhile, the left does everything it can to "contextualize" the violence its Armed Wing perpetuates, and to justify it, excuse it, and even encourage more of it.

The left goes out of its way to justify the assassination of Steve Scalise: http://thefederalist.com/2017/06/14/ins ... -thus-far/

Don't believe me?
Is there any other way to read that than "This guy got shot, and here's a good reason why?"

Sean Davis documents some excuse-making, and the New York Times' straight-up lies -- not "errors," deliberate, calculated lies -- to cover up the wrong-doing of its fellow travelers. (Definitely read!)

More on the New York Times' final descent into being a full-on apologist and advocate for political violence from Mark Hemingway.

Notice the left is decidedly not castigating its fringe the way the "respectable" right is required to do when its own fringe gets out of line.

By the way, their lie is so odious and obvious -- their own reportage debunked this lie years ago! -- that Sarah Palin may sue them, and she may well have enough evidence that the Times printed its falsehood with actual malice.

Malice means either knowing what you're saying is false, or being so reckless with regard to the truth as to be indifferent to it. I would say the New York Times' refusal to even check its own articles on the subject would satisfy the latter test.

Mollie Hemingway notes that the media's "bipartisan" approach to covering a story about a progressive Rachel Maddow fan assassinating Republican office-holders is to blame both Democrats and Republicans for the shooting.

Can't say that's not fair, huh?

Vinegar-c***ed hag Mika Brezinsky has an idea who's to blame for the left's assassin (the word "assassin" also means "attempted assassin," technically): She's not saying it's Trump's fault, buuuuttt...

The left is ginning up people to kill Republicans to save health care and heal the earth.

Resistance Summer sure got off with a bang, huh?
The Democratic National Committee announced that Resistance Summer would begin in June. James Hodgkinson, a Bernie Sanders volunteer, delivered by opening fire on Republicans playing baseball.
Hodgkinson had spent the weeks before the shooting staring at the site of his future attack and working on his laptop. What was he doing on his laptop? Ranting about Trump and Republicans.

The left-wing terrorist who opened fire on Republicans practicing for a charity baseball game, an event to which they had brought their children, didn’t come up with his own ideas. His Facebook pages were dumpsters rotting with reposted left-wing hate. There was Bill Moyers' Resistance plan along with Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Rachel Maddow, Robert Reich and Noam Chomsky.

They helped shape Hodgkinson’s conviction that Republicans had to be destroyed. Or as the title of a Facebook group that he belonged to put it, “Terminate the Republican Party.”

James Hodgkinson did his best in a Virginia park. And he wasn’t a lone lunatic. Not by a long shot.

After the attack, the office of Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.) received an email reading “One down, 216 to go". Congressman Tom Garrett (R-Va.) needed security after receiving threats reading, "This is how we're going to kill your wife". Other threats described graphic atrocities against his daughters and even his dog.

Congresswoman Martha McSally (R-AZ.) went to the FBI after phone messages warning, "Martha our sights are set on you, right between your **** eyes" and "Can't wait to **** pull the trigger."

And it didn’t stop at words.

David Kustoff (R-Tenn.) had his car nearly run off the road and was then threatened. Indivisible Team protests at Dana Rohrabacher's office (R-CA.) ended with a 71-year-old female staffer being injured by the actions of the leftist protesters.
By the way, the "one down, 216 to go" doesn't refer to all Republican Congressmen -- there are more than that -- but to the number who voted to repeal Obamacare. 217 of them voted to repeal.

Is the New York Times really denying that the connection between leftist political agitation and leftist violence is "unclear"?

Even Kevin Williamson, ever at the ready to castigate Republicans, can see that the left has gone way, way too far in its implicit and explicit embrace of violence as a means of "resistance."
It did not take very long to get from "Punch a Nazi!" to "assassinate a congressman."
He makes the case that it was not rhetoric that inspired violence, but violence which inspired violence -- from Berkeley to Middlebury to Evergreen, the left has engaged in ever-increasing violence and at each step along the way they have been defended and aided by the "respectable" left. Including even mayors and police departments just letting them beat the excrement out of people without penatly.

What did they imagine would emerge from this?

When you have one part of the country calling for the death of the other part of the country, you don't have a country any longer.
