What does "based" mean now?

I've seen it a few times in ref to conservativism, but don't get it.
Anyone willing to help an old guy with the new lexicon?

It's some 4chan /pol term which I'm too old to use.
Basically, I think it refers to someone who is red-pilled(Matrix reference which I'm not too old to use).
