Love the term "rubric of identity politics". Such a telling phrase.Major Kong wrote:They Brushed Off Kamala Harris. Then She Brushed Us Off.
Looks like the only thing 1984 got wrong was the date.

McCaskill doesn't know the meaning/usage of the "exception which proves the rule" idiom. Telltale sign of an idiot.
“Anyone who twists or distorts religion to a place of evil is an exception to the rule,” she said. “We should not focus on religion,” she said, adding that she was “worried” that the hearing, organized by Senator Ron Johnson, a Republican from Wisconsin, would “underline that.”

As a general rule organized religion is used by those in power to maintain their power over their subjects. They control access to information and knowledge and work to keep the ignorant that way as a means to maintaining their power. Christian faiths have evolved much further as education has spread and as such those religions have had to moderate to remain relevant (keep funded).USN_Hokie wrote:McCaskill doesn't know the meaning/usage of the "exception which proves the rule" idiom. The muslim world is for the most part 1,000 years behind in that evolution. The root of the "evil" of the muslim world is that those in power understand that education and knowledge will end their control of the masses. They will continue to use the power they have to resist this by doubling down on their control. But the march of knowledge moves on faster and faster and eventually the more they squeeze, the more will slip through their fingers. The innate desire of humans to be free will always overpower those in control because thought can't be controlled as much as those in power try.
Very little difference between the terrorism driven by muslims to resist the freedom of thought taking their power and the resistance of statists against free speech. It's all about control.
