My favorite Justice. Hope he enjoys retirement if that's the case.

Oh man, if that happens watch for the current attempt at a coup d'état to kick into high gear. The left, the media, the deep state, the establishment elite, etc. will do everything in their power to stop Trump from getting another nominee on the court. If he gets one, watch for million lib heads to explode and ramp up the conspiracy crap to about a 20 on a scale from 1-10.
But I would love to see him put William Pryor on the court. My only fear is you would have idiot Republicans like Collins and Murkowski that would not support him.

Makes sense. He's probably the associate justice who's least principled and most swayed by emotional arguments.

FWIW I like Justice Kennedy too...however that being written I expect the left to be more than a little persnickety.
I only post using 100% recycled electrons.

Ahhh yes...and then begins the demands by the left for a nominee with bi-partisan support, not a ideologue from the right. Ya' know like those middle of the road candidates Sotamayer and Kagan

Hopefully, this is where the socialists will pay a big price for their treatment of Gorsuch. They should have, in my opinion, not blocked and even supported Gorsuch. Gorsuch was going to get in anyway. If they had supported him, for political purposes only of course, the liars from the left could now work hard to block the next nominee, and it would be more difficult for mcconnel to justify the nuclear option. Since the socialists have demonstrated their patriotism by approving a qualified justice even though they disagreed politically.

Nobility from the socialists. A sham, but it would have played well in the media, and mccain for one, would have bought it and resisted the nuclear option here.

I just hope that the Rs don't "go all wobbly" and let up on the socialists. You know, reach across the aisle and find a nice moderate like ... kennedy or RB Ginsburg to fill the seat. To keep the balance on the court and keep it from swinging too far in any one direction. Like the socialists would do if they had power.

I don't trust the Rs to make a good decision here. I am hopeful, not confident.

I posted y'day that in our lifetimes, THIS IS the time for the Rs to bury the socialists. With SCOTUS picks, economic turnaround, immigration stoppage, and muhzz terrorist fighting. The socialists have revealed themselves as have the media, as anti american socialists. People are starting to see it.

Rs should go for the throat. But the mccains and the grahams and the susan collins will want to go for a beer with the opposition and reach across the aisle for the good of the american people.

THIS IS, right now, the opportunity to bury them.

The best part is that this is the shirt-show they created by ramming all of Obama's court nominees through. Enjoy your shirt sandwich, libs.

I was sure that the liberal feigned outrage over Gorsuch was all show and they would confirm him. I underestimated how stupid and controlled by political ideologues they are.

I have to respectfully disagree with you on a point of emphasis here, Oakie.
Rhinos McCain, Graham and Collins are not republicans. They do not reach across the aisle. They are planted across the aisle; and they have done everything they can do to damage the republican side. On every significant issue they side with their buddies "across the aisle".

Agree that the democrats misplayed the Gorsuch nomination. They should have accepted a conservative to fill a conservative seat. Then they could have stood strong in pushing for a moderate to replace Kennedy and made the republicans look bad if they went nuclear. As it stands they forced the republican hand and have dug themselves a hole. What happens if Trump gets a 3rd pick?

There should be some age limit here. My mother is about the same age and I can tell you most of her compatriots are nowhere near lucid enough to decide the fate of mankind. Why would anyone think someone who went to law school with age any differently.

Agreed. Wouldn't mind either an age limit or maximum term. They shouldn't be Justices for life.
