Basically, unless someone has a bona fide relationship to the US, the government has the power to ban them from the country.
The court unanimously agreed that the lower court erred in using Trump's campaign rhetoric to infer a purpose of religious discrimination in an otherwise constitutional order.
Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch filed a dissent saying that they would have upheld Trump's order in its entirety (including allowing him to keep out people who do have a bona fide relationship to the US).
Honestly, I'm stunned that it was unanimous. I didn't give the LWNJ Obama justices enough credit - I thought sure they would invent some reason to uphold the injunction.

That's two in a row. It's actually very positive news that when it comes to the clear and obvious ones even the far left justices are a step above their SJW brethren on the circuit courts.Major Kong wrote:Again More winning
Looks like the only thing 1984 got wrong was the date.

SCOTUS justices take their jobs seriously. Thankfully.BigDave wrote:Basically, unless someone has a bona fide relationship to the US, the government has the power to ban them from the country.
