I can't believe so many snowflakes get triggered by the removal of a monument of a confederate leader in 2017! They should remove them all nationally over a weekend and get it over with so the snowflakes can't continue to protest each time. If they schedule the mass removal opposite a NASCAR event maybe the snowflakes won't even notice.

I hope our president goes to his Twitter to condemn these people.

It's funny when you special people accuse others of being triggered.

Wow that's some pretty twisted logic right there. The "snowflakes" are the ones that were triggered by the existence of a statue that is 100 years old. They were the ones that were so offended by it that they had to have it removed.

I love how so many lefties here try to pretend that the term snowflake means something other than than the intolerant SJWs that it was first coined to refer to.

Correct. FatTroll is twice triggered in this, first to destroy monuments and then again at the smart people that deny his initial attacks on history.

Gotcha AG. I'm clearly wrong to disagree with the folks you call "smart" that are "defending history."

The thing about the Confederate flag is that it didn't really come back in the South until the Civil Rights era when it was used as an opposition symbol.

That is fantastic. When I search for a group that represents the exact opposite of a bunch of assholes running around Charlottesville shouting "death to Jews" ISIS is usually not the first to come to mind.

Both sides are wrong.

KKK are aholes. The nazis saluting are aholes.

The SJWs are aholes for not accepting history, and rallying for a trans-lesbian socialist matriarchy.

Everyone is wrong on this.

I have no problem with removing Confederate symbols from public sites. They fought against my country and lost, so TS. I don't want public funds going to such symbols given that they didn't generally exhibit American values.

Now, if someone wants to take private funds and put them on private property, go for it. Government shouldn't ban them from being displayed. And then, if people want to want to scrutinize and protest it, go for it. I feel this is a good, conservative position where the free market will take care of this over due time while not restricting speech.

They were Americans. Oddly enough, nobody objected to them being erected at the time. It's only postmodernist radicals who are suddenly offended by these "symbols" as you describe them. You should think about that.

Of course white people in power in the South didn't object to erecting Confederate statues and memorials back then.

But I'm not too concerned about what happened with erecting them then. I don't think we should have public statues and memorials of those who fought against our country and killed Americans.

Further, another reason that us conservatives should be shouting from the top of the mountain about these neo-Nazis (in addition to the obvious...) is that they're trying to bastardize American conservatism. Importing this European-style nationalistic conservatism doesn't align with our values and the history of American conservatism.

I'm not going to re-fight the War Between The States with you, but clearly (clearly!) you have no idea what you're talking about. Being that you're a West Virginian, I'm not surprised by your ignorance of late 1800s US history. WVians didn't take a stand one way or the other, but simply cut and ran like the prussies they are.
