Has anyone watched Comrade Detective (warning: spoilers)

Post by BigDave »

It's an Amazon Prime show.

It's a buddy cop show from 1980s Communist Romania - a government propaganda show - with English voiceovers. They gave the original film the Star Trek treatment where they went back to the film, re-scanned it in HD, and made it look very high quality.

Only none of that's true - it's actually a parody.

I didn't know when I first started watching it that it was parody, but by partway through the first episode, it was obvious that there were enough anachronisms like ragging on Detroit that there was no way it was really from the 1980s.

But the funny thing is, even though it's parody, it's a pretty accurate view of the world the far left envisions for us.

Yes, I'm about half way through. It's hilarious. My favorite part was when they learned how to play monopoly. "once you have taken all the money from your family and left them homeless, you win."

I just accessed Prime for the first time the other day to watch Sneaky Pete. Will give this a look, thanks.
