Sure.
I'm suggesting "presidential" in your question means one thing to you (form) and something different to me (function).
OK. If I cared more to go down this rabbit-hole with you, I'd ask how the function of Trump's tallies differ from Obama's, so as to make Trump's rallies presidential, but not Obama's.

I'm sure it's complicated.

Last nights rally, to me, was ph neutral, essentially. The function, being to discuss his agenda (filibuster, immigration, healthcare, poking McCain in the eye...) sure. Presidential because those things are desirable, and fit the charge of the office (constitution, protecting me)

Obamas rallies, essentially disruptive of the health industry, promoting racial discord and undermining rule of law, not.

Not complicated at all.

It's the same function: promoting their agenda. One can only conclude from this mental gymnastics routine that you agree with one agenda, and not the other.

Even less complicated.

And Trump's agenda is presidential. So any rallies Trump participates in are also presidential. I got it now. Thanks for setting me straight, I had it all wrong before.

Form

Function

Simple

To you, presidentiality means looking good on TV and saying things the MSM agrees with.
To me, presidentiality has much more to do with agenda.

Trump looks and sounds like a circus clown.
I'm crazy, but think his agenda makes a lot more sense than one which includes arming drug lords, pay for play, giving nukes to despots, politicizing the IRS, a contempt of congress AG, etc etc.
So I put (the dead dog) on her doorstep!

I'm not seeing how this routine refutes my conclusion. Ive told you that I think Obama's rallies were unpresidential. So your assertions as to what I think are both misplaced and unavailing.

I understand that you agree with the message. I wasn't asking about the message, but you cannot, or are unwilling, to divorce the message from the general concept of these campaign-style rallies.

Carry on.

Making mention of the 10 sailors who drowned the previous day would have been presidential.

Sending well wishes to John McCain in his home state would have been presidential.

I've got Obamacare still in force, no infrastructure bill, no tax reform, and no major legislative achievement, all with historically low approval ratings.

Did Soros send out the orders to harp on "legislative achievement" or something? I keep seeing that phrase... odd, given that the subject in question (President) is not in the legislature but rather the executive.

Obamacare- that's on John McCain in particular, the congress in general.
Infrastructure - meh. It'll come. Still a legislative thing
Tax reform- coming. Again, legislature
Approval ratings - depends who you ask, and when.

Russia!!

Let us know when he gives nukes to terrorist despots, mkay?

Yes, Obama

While you can complain about the current Prez's goofy hair and mode of speech, ...and the lack of a good highway bill after 7 months...

I will complain that the last Prez gave nukes to terrorists. Nukes! Terrorists! One pales in comparison to the other. Seriously. That was so stupid of the libs/dems/bolsheviks, that it should preclude any others ever being elected to office again. God help us. Nukes to terrorists. (oh, and pallets of unmarked bills; can't forget that strike of genius)
So I put (the dead dog) on her doorstep!

yes, coal mining is a tough profession, keep in mind that these days machines do most of the work so people are not near as exposed as they used to be. Of course being a crab fisherman is a very tough profession also, or a power lineman or hundreds of other jobs.... for instance NFL fball player.... and people still do them

Again, many places on the planet continue to use coal to produce electricity and run their economies and that is not changing soon, first due to cost and second due to alternatives. Just ask China
You state the reason why there is no net benefit to "saving" coal: it doesn't yield the jobs that it's supporters would lead you to believe that it does. I acknowledge that they are high paying jobs for uneducated workers, but those uneducated workers have largely been outsourced to machines.
