What is the ‘alt-left’?

The mainstream media failed to see the rise of Donald Trump in 2016. Now it’s overlooking another grassroots movement that may soon be of equal significance— the growing number of liberals “taking the red pill.” People of all ages and ethnicities are posting YouTube videos describing “red pill moments”—personal awakenings that have caused them to reject leftist narratives imbibed since childhood from friends, teachers, and the news and entertainment media.

You might say that those who take the red pill have been “triggered.” But instead of seeking out “safe spaces,” they’re doing the opposite, posting monologues throwing off the shackles of political correctness.

Their videos can feature the kind of subversiveness that was once a hallmark of the left—before the movement lost its sense of humor.

Thanx TM2.

I had heard the red pill thing but wasn't sure what it was. (Birth control for injuns?)

If this continues and grows, only the VERY stupid will be left on the left. That is, the very stupid and the media and other socialist power gluttons of the george soros, barrack obama ilk.

That's called growing up. Glad it's happening with the snowflake generation. The older you get, the more you tend to learn that what the left produces is propaganda that doesn't match with reality. Experience is the fuel to burn off the non-functional views from the left.

I think they're in trouble from a demographics standpoint. Not just the left tending to not reproduce and so are at risk in the long term, but the medium term as well. The millennials grew up with the broken promises of the Obama era. They're old enough to remember Obama saying "this is the time the seas stopped rising" and all of that nonsense. And just the other day, they were claiming that earthquakes, Irma, and Harvey we created by AGW. Even a millennial will eventually round those corners and realize that climate change is just fear mongering. Same thing with the economy, their professions as they learn diversity is BS, etc. They're going to get beat by the real world into abandoning liberalism. But since they're a highly indoctrinated generation, that process is going to take longer than it has in previous generations. That's a very large voting block that isn't going to be on the liberal train much longer. I think their own personal poverty now is going to make them numb to class warfare too. They won't care when some libtard claims they need to raise their taxes 20% because some kid can't afford cable. That's where they are today and so they'll likely tell them to suffer through it as that's what's happening to them.

I still think Gen Z is the red pill generation. They're growing up and just watching this bullshit all around them from shitty millennials who had their minds warped by hippy stoner boomers.

I think they're going to reject it all for a "normal" life where they work hard, pay their bills, and understand their strengths and weaknesses instead of asking others to compensate for them.

I think that's all true for whites, but poll/survey after poll/survey has shown latinos as interested in more government and more free stuff. They're the only ones having kids right now. Millennial whites are looking at their debt and cost of living and deciding they don't want children.

Besides, they'd have to get an Uber XL with a car seat - think of how much that would cost!

could be. I'm hoping the millennials wake up. Generations tend to flip as the kids are typically more like their grandparents in attitude. Any gains by Z will be flipped by the kids of the millennials and then vica-versa.
