Updating resumes not very relevant for NFL players any more or less today than it was last week. To the extent demand is going down, salaries will stagnate longer than usual and, perhaps, eventually even go down. I think sports in general are going down in demand. Just too much other stuff to occupy our time and because people are easily butt hurt in 2017 no matter what said of the aisle you root for...

I agree and that is my point, the ratings are going down, ESPN is having issues. It is inevitable that when the TV contracts get renewed they are not going up but most likely going down across the board for all sports. So the last thing the players should do is make it worse by irritating the fans that indirectly affect how the players get millions to play a game. I know there are mean and bad cops around, I also know that there are a whole lot of people that have zero regard to laws and zero regard to authority figures.

This kneeling issue will die - quickly- people will simply ignore it. Only 18% of all players took a knee yesterday as it was. It will go away- like all hot trump/political issues. Nobody with an IQ above 20 thinks that America today is Mississippi 1956, zero smart, aware people believe that. Only criminals and silly democrats think police clock in every day and then go look for black guys to murder with impunity- nobody smart believes that. Black millionaires protesting "inequality" in America in a sport that is attended in person by an overwhelmingly white audience will get real old, real fast. The NFL has a much, much larger issue- and that is the fact that nobody wants to play the game anymore at a high level because your brain gets wrecked. THAT is an issue that could kill the sport. And BTW- the ESPN SEC Deal and NFL deal when renewed will be bigger than ever before in terms of dollars. they wont give those two properties up, no matter what the cost.

Disagree on your statement on the new tv deals, colleges and all sports better be ready to cut some budgets, the deals will be going down, ESPN is already in some hurt, there is no way they can increase it

I've posted before that years ago many professional athletes were asked what they would be doing if they were not in the NFL or NBA.

Many of these nearly literate, steroid enhanced, whiny millionaires said they would be the CEO of a major corporation or a high government official. And most of them couldn't write a resume' anyway.

If you bend over backwards long enough,
eventually you'll fall down.

Self-destructing, bitinging the hand that feeds it. Sort of amusing. There will always be an issue that is perceived as not being fair. They call for total equality, I think that should apply to salaries, too. Pay them the average income of the average US Citizen.
