With their Cap’n and Chief Intelligence Officer having deserted them, River, Ham and Joe valiantly continue their whataboutismistic last stand of the DJT apology tour.

Result was disappointing, but not unexpected. Clemson looked pretty damn good.

We will get another shot at them in December in Charlotte. They blitzed the crap out of us, if we come up with something to give Josh a little bit of time we can hang with them (and do not turn the ball over)USN_Hokie wrote:The old logo remains for sports.ip_law-hokie wrote:And our new logo that looks like planned parenthood logo.

Was Stinespring calling the plays again?
We were predictable, and we were stupid. Pass after pass after pass into the flat that if complete, gains 5 yards.
On one play, I told the guy next to me that we were going to run a quarterback draw. We did. I said, if I know what we are going to run, you think Clemson might as well?
The atmosphere was fabulous, the skydiving thing was terrific, the fans were pumped, but then the game started .

Clemson is the real deal. I have to give the Hokies credit for keeping it respectable and not quitting.

Their D line was bringing heat with 3-5 people. They have players that are all 1st to early 2nd round picks in the NFL and all underclassmen. The talent gap and mistakes are what did us in. Take back T-Mac's fumble, Murphy not catching that ball and the crappy punt in the beginning and it's a much better game.

Re: Tough night for our hokies
All true.
And while you are at it, take back the 80 yard touchdown for Clemson on a blown play defensively, the interception for a touchdown that they seemed to know was going to be another, another short pass going nowhere, the missed field goal, and the fake field goal that everybody knew was coming, and we win.
They are better than we are. I can live with that. But that means means we could not win by turning the ball over, making mistakes, and playing like we were afraid to make a mistake.
The statistics were about even. Amazingly, we outgained them. We had more first downs. Time of possession was almost exactly even.
Clemson could not move the ball in the second half. And we chose not to.
They are better than we are, I can live with that. But I had assumed for the past three weeks that we were offensively playing intentionally bland and dull. Didn't want to show them anything.
We didn't show them anything yesterday, either.
Why didn't peoples play?

I heard Peoples got injured in practice
Look, it was good to show us how much better we have to get to be at the top. We can now all understand the talent delta. To beat that team, we would have to play a perfect game and they would have to make a lot of mental errors. If we played then ten times we would only win 1 or 2. There is a big talent delta.

JJ is a r-freshman QB with good talent surrounding him. Clemson QB Kelly has great players surrounding him. In short, we needed Kelly to be JT Barrett.

Yep. Beamer and coaches used Miami as their benchmark.Bay_area_Hokie wrote:I heard Peoples got injured in practice
