Richard Lewis has been looking like crap for 30 years. He's 70 - same age as Larry. Apparently they have been friends since going to summer camp together. I think he's just old.oaktonhokie wrote:Great show. I especially liked the older one with the palestinian chicken restaurant.
First episode this time served mainly to reintroduce the characters, imo. And i'm not sure why the black guy is there. He is a cartoon, a caricature. Not real and not funny, imo.
And the other comedian looked terrible. Is he sick?
Can't wait for the rest of the season.

JB is definitely funny. And I think the caricature is purposeful.ip_law-hokie wrote:Richard Lewis has been looking like crap for 30 years. He's 70 - same age as Larry. You are nuts on JB - he's the funniest character.
If anybody is a caricultire, it's his agents' wife. But she got foisted.

Yes. He and his "limpy bitch" assistant are very politically correct.Attila T Hun wrote:JB is a holdover from Katrina days as a survivor. Larry has him on to authenticate his liberal politics.

Seinfeld was criticized for not having enough black people, so there's probably a grain of truth to JB's role in the show. Either way, I think he's hilarious.
Oak mentioned above. Funkhauser and the Palestinian chicken episode was the best one from the prior season.VTDante wrote:Leon was the best part of of the first episode.
Big fan but I thought the first episode was a little off. Hopefully, Sunday's episode was just to set up the season.
And bring on Marty Funkhauser.
That's correct. But remember JB lived in LA.Attila T Hun wrote:JB is a holdover from Katrina days as a survivor. Larry has him on to authenticate his liberal politics.
Funkhausers can't go to the left. Nobody can!VTDante wrote:Leon was the best part of of the first episode.

Funk's girlfriend was really good in that.VTDante wrote:The Accidental Text on Purpose episode Was a great episode.
Funkman ending his friendship with Larry while LD didn't care was perfect.
Given the energy you've put into this vs something trivial like our healthcare system, think you may really be more of an E! type of poster?ip_law-hokie wrote:This is, by far, the GOAT season for Curb.
He stomps around the city bus like he owns the thing, demanding the driver blow through the yellows when he’s not mimicking a woman’s foreign language after she rightfully bristles at his unprovoked jabs. Larry’s never been one to throw his wealth and status around so the sense of entitlement he’s been showing to city officials and service employees all season has been both strange and unpleasant. Larry telling the Romanian Uber driver that his country is filled with ugly women, for example, was very un-Larrylike.
Also unsavory was the episode’s half-baked “Asperger” storyline, which found Larry justifying his own bad behavior by claiming to suffer from the syndrome after seeing how his current girlfriend’s “prick son” got away with so much by having it. Sure, Larry wondering whether the kid might “just be an asshole” is as funny as “pissed or Parkinson’s,” but it gets into some rough territory once Larry begins exploiting a condition.
