watch out if you banged the receptionist
Holy crap, I used to work with this guy, https://www.recode.net/2017/12/11/16759 ... on-affairs
He was a run of the mill, married guy who has sex with coworkers and subordinates type. Nothing remarkable, just old school, like something out of the Jack Lemon movie "The Apartment".
Insane.
This is the second guy I personally know to be in the papers.

humans have sex....when did this start happening?
I agree not the best plan to boink somebody you work with but if it is two adults and consensual it has nothing to do with work unless you can find some affect from it.

Not the best plan? No, it’s to be avoided at all costs. It’s stupid and can only lead to bad things. If you want to boink someone, don’t find him/her in the office.

Well, that's kinda different when it's a subordinate. Sure, two consenting adults and all that, but you put yourself in a position where she can later claim she didn't feel free to say no since you were her boss. And you can never prove that she didn't "feel" pressured.cwtcr hokie wrote:humans have sex....when did this start happening?

I agree it is not smart, per the article tho the two he had affairs with left the company it appears some time ago so I am guessing here they just got tired of his stuff and his work could be done by someone without the baggage or issuesBigDave wrote:Well, that's kinda different when it's a subordinate. And they can now go back and claim sexual harassment. That’s why you don’t do it. They can now claim they were working in a hostile work environment.

Re: watch out if you banged the receptionist
People meet at work, many people do, it is where you spend most of your time. There is no issue with it if it is handled correctly, but yes life is not perfect and crap goes sideways. FYI, my wife of 27 years was a blind date after I had broken up with someone and was complaining to a friend that is a female that I could not meet any decent people. She set me up with her friend who she worked with. So I have never done anything with females I work with. The only exception to that was when I was in HS and at VT and tried to get together with the females that I worked with in the restaurants I worked in, I was successful at times so I guess I broke the "rule". It was very fun breaking it tho!Mcl3 Hokie wrote:Not the best plan? No, it’s to be avoided at all costs. It’s stupid and can only lead to bad things. Ask yourself how many make those claims and how many people mess with or become a couple with someone at work. You can get killed in your commute daily also. Life has risksMcl3 Hokie wrote:And they can now go back and claim sexual harassment. That’s why you don’t do it. They can now claim they were working in a hostile work environment.

The keys to your little rationalization are;
It was 27 years ago
You weren’t their boss
Do it today, and you’re rolling the dice. It’s bad news having a superior sleeping with their subordinate. When it ends, it usually ends badly.

Re: watch out if you banged the receptionist
Keep in mind MC3l that in our current environment all it takes is an accusation, at this point every accusation has to be believed 100% and as we see daily it is enough to destroy your life. Even if you never did anything or had any interaction with the person or people making the accusation. So you can be super careful as you say and still be ruined, that is where the current loonacy is at. So if someone wants you out of the way (say they want your job) or they are pissed because you won't have a relationship with them they can easily screw you royally.Mcl3 Hokie wrote:The keys to your little rationalization are;

So since the Dems, after overlooking the sexual misconduct and crimes of Bill Clinton, have weaponized any sexual innuendo going back 30 years, the end result is The Party is Over in Congress and elsewhere.

I’m not sure a guy who is married and has sex with coworkers and subordinates is “run of the mill”.Bay_area_Hokie wrote:Holy crap, I used to work with this guy, https://www.recode.net/2017/12/11/16759 ... on-affairs

Am reminded of ancient proverb:
"Never excrement where you eat."
Kinda sums things up concisely.

The NFL Network has suspended three analysts after they were accused of sexual harassment and assault by a former wardrobe stylist.
Jami Cantor filed a complaint in Superior Court for the State of California, County of Los Angeles on Monday claiming that she was subjected to constant sexual misconduct by the former football greats employed by the network.

How do they get rid of Pence tho? He won't have dinner with a woman so I guess they get somebody to accuse him of doing some deviant act when he was a teenagerTechmomof2 wrote:Yep, because the Dems are frantic to get rid of Trump, the party's over everywhere.Techmomof2 wrote:So since the Dems, after overlooking the sexual misconduct and crimes of Bill Clinton, have weaponized any sexual innuendo going back 30 years, the end result is The Party is Over in Congress and elsewhere.

Oh my goodness, say it isn't so. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that former NFL players might sexually harass someone. This just can't be happening. The NFL has such a squeaky clean image and their players are known far and wide for how respectful they are to all people, especially women. This is just shocking news.
