Good news for all of you productive adult video gamers
Your inability to grow out of playing video games will soon be a disorder, and you can theoretically go on disability from it.

Our gamers don’t need this, since they are rugged individualists.

So this unsupported allegation is more true than your previous allegation, which was demonstrably not true? I’ll choose to remain skeptical.awesome guy wrote:So one usual person games vs all Unusuals gaming. Got it.ip_law-hokie wrote:Got it.awesome guy wrote:I don't think he's a gamer. But in all serious time spent playing video games versus watching sports. Is one truly better than the other? The way he talks I'm presuming CFB watches a lot of golf. That's more productive than playing video games for the same duration of time?

I agree- watching golf is not anymore productive than playing video games for the same duration. Although you gcould argue that Johnny Miller and Peter Kostis's tips are something you can learn from and take to the range, etc. But your premise is correct- Neither are productive when you get down to it.BG Hokie wrote:He was defending storyline creativity in video games, sounded like someone defending pr0n as art.ip_law-hokie wrote:Got it.awesome guy wrote:I don't think he's a gamer. I think you'd be more likely to meet productive people on a golf course than you would playing video games with someone in their parent's basement.

You sound like a former gamer who discovered girls for the first time.

Arguing with strangers online all day while hurling insults and slurs is certainly not indicative of mental illness, though.

Time spent outdoors playing golf with others is time better spent than watching television, video games or otherwise.

Yep. If someone is playing video games all day long to the detriment of their own health or financial well-being, then that's a problem. Sort of like gambling. But if you just do it causally from time to time for entertainment, then I don't see why its a problem.Hokie5150 wrote:Meh...any activity can be addictive and lead to a "disorder" for the right personality type.CFB Apologist wrote:Your inability to grow out of playing video games will soon be a disorder, and you can theoretically go on disability from it.

That’s correct. But CFB’s astute point is that those whose interests lie in imitating life, rather than participating life, are losers.BG Hokie wrote:Well, sure, now that's changing the conversation.ip_law-hokie wrote:

If you enjoy playing golf, it’s only natural to want to witness it in its finest form - which is a black man - the greatest athlete of our generation - dominating white boys born with a silver spoon in their mouth.

LOL... Well, compared to anyone who watches “Girls” -and enjoys it-, even a bronie would seem like a rugged individualist.ip_law-hokie wrote:Our gamers don’t need this, since they are rugged individualists.

Yeah, and?
Seems about the same as getting worked up over a fantasy warrior princess, except that the ghoul in any game is ALWAYS easier on the eyes and less annoying than your show's main subject/character.
This is something one cannot get away from.
