What am I missing here? Can a state governor pardon federal criminals?

I'm assuming that the basis of the illegal aliens' deportation was that they committed state crimes. If you are an illegal alien and you, say, commit armed robbery, then that makes you a priority for deportation, even though it's just a state crime, not a federal crime.RiverguyVT wrote:Well, then, what's with all the noise over his "pardons" then? Jerry Brown's view is that he would rather have armed robbers released back onto the streets rather than deported and so he is pardoning them.
