Victoria and Dos Equis (the dark lager, not the light lager that has unfortunately become increasingly popular) are also good, but not quite so much as Negra Modelo (the one IP_sitting_hokie is referring to). I fully agree that beers packaged in clear bottles are subject to UV-promoted skunking from the isomerization of the humulone in hops, and Mexican beers like Sol and Corona should usually be poured in the toilet.ip_law-hokie wrote:They make a decent Vienna style lager
For those who don't think Mexican beer is good or can be good, I highly encourage you to pick up a six of Bohemia. That is an absolutely fantastic example of a European pilsner, but with more fresh hop aroma. One of my very favorites (and it fortunately comes in a dark bottle that helps prevent skunking).

I'll stick up for the Manchester area of Chesterfield... and Richmond, too.
Once it was a VERY vibrant area, carrying historical significance. In chesterfield near chippenham, there has been some gentrification, sure. Where isn't there? Manchester in Richmond has become blighted.
Hull Street, many do not realize, was once hoity-toity near Jeff Davis.
Coal was brought to Manchester from Midlothian on the nation's second oldest rail line (approx 15 miles long). FWIW, the line being credited as the nation's oldest, in Philly, is a mere 100 meters or so by comparison.
It seems that Manchester as it used to be known doesn't really exist anymore. Chippenham split it, the city annexed part of it at the turn of the century (1900s), so the Chesterfield Manchester lost identity while the city version Manchester did not.
Manchester in Chesterfield basically served to house all the DuPont and Allied Chemical folks.

The Manchester area? I understand it was a city back in the day, like Brooklyn and Manhattan. But it's just been a name of a school that has moved down 360 over the years.RiverguyVT wrote:I'll stick up for the Manchester area of Chesterfield... and Richmond, too.

And AG is right. While Richmond proper is doing great, Chesterfield has gone down hill. If I were to relocate to Richmond, I would live in the city.
