In what capacity?
Best, as in most doctrinairely pure?
Best, as in most electable?
Or, best, as in good thinker/writer/pundit?

He’s the most consistent member of Congress when it comes to ideology. He is not some lunatic libertarian.

That's my answer too, TM02. I think Ben Shapiro has emerged as the best conservative voice out there right now. Extremely reasoned and rational, enjoys good debate, isn't emotional about it and goes with fact based arguments.

So Rand Paul actually held out for a full repeal, rather than the faux conservatives tinkering around the edges and leaving the majority of the stinking pile of crap intact. You are objecting to the bomb squad choosing to disarm a bomb rather than delaying the explosion by a few hours...

I think in those instances Rand is just pointing out the hypocrisy. It exists on both sides and he's usually trying to highlight it.

The best? No clue. Some of the best: VDH, Andrew McCarthy and Laura InGraham.
