It was an idiotic move, not funding the military over a vote on illegal aliens that's coming anyway. They were showing their idiotic base that "they care". Sensible people care about America first, they look like lunatics. They almost had to as their illegal alien base claimed they weren't doing enough for foreigners and so came up with this dumpster fire strategy.

Agree. They knew the republicans were going to have to work out a bill for immigration, specifically the illegals under DACA and DreamAct. Why go thru the negativity of the shutdown?

This is why the left are in such a piss dossier believing tizzy. There is someone in the WH who actually fights them back, instead of sitting there trying to be respectful......when they are anything but.

The Schumer Shutdown was a brilliant move.

The thought they had to grandstand to the illegal aliens or risk losing the vote of people who can't legally vote (yet do anyway). They're a regional party, they're using a national platform to appease California.
