Federal Judge in Boston upholds ban on AR-15s
Holds that 2nd amendment does not cover assault weapons (e.g., AR-15) or large capacity magazines. In accord with the prevailing view.

That's obviously the inevitable result on a ban on assault weapons. Slippery Slope!USN_Hokie wrote:Remember to thank a cop the next time you see one. Just remember they're under no obligation to protect you.ip_law-hokie wrote: My political philosophy relies on the cops I hate for my protection!!

WHy uphold the ban on the AR15 but a Ruger Mini 14 is A.O.K. It makes absolutely no sense.

You're in way over your head. The AR-15 isn't banned for possession by name, Massachusetts just has a feature test which is applicable to almost all (but not all) AR15's. The Mini 14 passes the feature test, but is identical in function (same capacity, same round, same operation).ip_law-hokie wrote: Got it. The ruling is bad because the law prohibits weapons in common use (see Heller v DC), and the AR15 is the most popular modern sporting rifle in existence.
