I've driven by Doumars countless times and never thought of stopping. Looks like the sort of place you'd get shot waiting for your food at.

Kansas City - Oklahoma Joe's but I loved Gate's burnt ends
Phoenix - Porkopolis (Burnt Ends)

It's not really unsafe there ... or at least it didn't used to be. I haven't eaten there in maybe 10 years.USN_Hokie wrote:I've driven by Doumars countless times and never thought of stopping. Looks like the sort of place you'd get shot waiting for your food at.
Most of Norfolk is pretty safe, particularly during the day. Even at night, it's well-lit there.
But it's more about eating there just so you can say you've been there - the food really isn't that good.

I prefer Rocklands to Hill Country. They have locations in DC and Arlington, maybe Maryland? A lot of people here love Hill Country. The Shark Tank funded barbecue is in Delray, the ends and collard greens are really good there.VTDante wrote:Places I've lived...

People who know, know.

Pineapple Willy's in Panama City used to have great ribs. Not a big fan of pulled barbecue of any sort.

I'll have to try Rocklands. I forgot about Pork Barrel. Great lunch spot if you work in Alexandria.TheH2 wrote:I prefer Rocklands to Hill Country.
