Two sets of laws......

Post by HokieHam »

Blatantly obvious. You Unusuals are happy about it too.......because it’s your side getting away with it.
The more Mueller searches for hypothetical lawbreaking, the more he ignores the actual lawbreakers.

Oh, they'll notice when the worm turns. Just like they did when Trump was elected. This mess will continue ratcheting up.

That quote is idiotic, the things listed in the article that need to be investigated aren't under Mueller's umbrella.
But, they are under the DOJ jurisdiction, so if the author has an issue, take it up with the AG. If only the AG weren't a diehard lib.....

As long as the spine-free republicans support the status quo, nothing will change.

Mitch mcconnel and jeff sessions won't let anything happen to disturb the standard operating procedure.

Term limits.

Honest question, what exactly is under Mueller's "umbrella"? I presumed that it was to find out whether or not there was Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential election. That would be an intelligence investigation. So why has this been consistently expanded into a criminal investigation, which you yourself admit should be under DOJ jurisdiction?

And what the heck does Stormy Daniels have to do with Russian interference in the election?

TIA.

This whole investigation coup is an umbrella turned inside out.

It wasn't to find out if there was interference, that was already known. It was to determine if there was any assistance given to the Russians conducting the interference, and also to investigate any links between the Trump campaign and Russia government personnel. And I didn't say a criminal investigation belongs under DOJ, that's not accurate at all. Special counsels are appointed for criminal investigations.

As for Stormy Daniels, that's not Mueller, so not sure why you're asking that question.

Comey also said that the counterintelligence work would include an assessment of whether any criminal acts occurred.
And the mandate specifically included this:
"any other matters within the scope of 28 C.F.R. § 600.4(a), i.e., any federal crimes committed in the course of, and with intent to interfere with, the special counsel's investigation, such as perjury, obstruction of justice, destruction of evidence, and intimidation of witnesses. "

So again, the investigation is an intelligence investigation. He is allowed to pursue a criminal investigation if it arises from someone breaking the law as a result of his intelligence investigation, i.e obstruction of justice, destruction of evidence, perjury, or witness intimidation. He is not performing a criminal investigation.
