I'm not sure that 4Meth has an RQ (reportable quantity)...we used it in Cu flotation and there wasn't an RQ associated with it then...still it might be a NPDES permit requirement. It is a TSCA chemical (but so is about everything).
The worse thing about the stuff is it highly flammable but low on explosive oomph. OSHA deems it hazardous but DOT doesn't. EPA doesn't list it in SARA, CWA or RCRA specifically listed but is considered ignitable and hence a hazardous waste under RCRA but very rarely is a spill of a product considered a haz waste incident.
That being said you hate for anything like this to happen and when something has a specific gravity less than water then clean up is impossible.
A responders nightmare.
