But here’s a good article on how it became vital and touted by the gullible among us.
Oddly, many of those touting it were anti-vaccine.

Re: Not sure if anyone on here still touts LieVermectin
Interestingly, Ivermectin was listed as an effective drug to take on the handout given to me by my doctor's office last week re: mah Coof.
They had a list of vitamins & supplements & etc that they recommended. Ivermectin was on the list. Provided by a large family practice's office. Doctors. Doctors that had likely run such a list past corporate and "loss control" folks. Legal, too, I'd imagine.
It is funny, some of the things some folks get really hung up on and take on as a cause. The ivermectin issue is really a non-issue. It is silly. It was silly from the moment leftists went berserk over it.
A real issue of weight is Biden's failure to deliver on his promise to wield truinternatialdepressure to resolve this "crisis".

I had a trumpy friend call and ask me about hydroxychloroquine in 6/2020
My childhood friend Joe of course knew of my Ph.D. training in medical research so he called and asked about hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) about a year and a half ago. He is a smart guy who "married well" to a West Palm Beach socialite (married AT Mar-a-Lago...and yes, I was there in 2009 where I met the insufferable Donald). Suffice it to say he was and is a tRumpist but had solid questions about HCQ.
When I told him that the scientific evidence against HCQ was so bad that several human studies throughout a number of countries had to be halted due the statistically greater numbers of patients in the HCQ group developing fatal heart arrhythmias, he was noticeably hesitant to believe me so I sent him links to the data. I haven't heard back from him since ~June 2020 but since then, his brother John (also my childhood friend) told me both Joe and his wife have gotten covid twice (Alpha and Delta), both his parents have died of covid, and Joe now has "long covid" symptoms and had been considering ivermectin.
I hope the best for my friend and his wife but they are too far into the cult of tRump (they are paying members at Mar-a-Lago) to even see straight. They have apparently cut off anyone who isn't openly a part of their tRump cult, and that includes Joe's brother John.

Hydroxychloroquine, based on the evidence we have, has serious side effects and even if it does help with COVID (which there's no evidence it does), the side effects are far worse than the potential good.dunwithtrump wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 12:45 am My childhood friend Joe of course knew of my Ph.D. training in medical research so he called and asked about hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) about a year and a half ago. Ivermectin, on the other hand, while there's no adequate studies proving it has a benefit, is it proven to have negative side effects outweighing the potential good? I don't know of any. I would have thought it would be in the "likely useless, but not harmful" category (whereas HCQ is in the "likely useless AND harmful" category).
