Oh good grief ... and this cop is probably pleased with himself for getting another dangerous criminal off the streets.

I still don't understand how it is even illegal. Even if the kid sipped the beer, his father should be able to allow him too.

I doubt that breaking any law would be a required prerequisite to this particular cop making an arrest.
With their Cap’n and Chief Intelligence Officer having deserted them, River, Ham and Joe valiantly continue their whataboutismistic last stand of the DJT apology tour.

Good point. I'm also glad they are focusing on father son combos at the NFL stadium and not the pack of 10 cursing, blotto 25 year olds.

Should be able to in a just society or should be able to under the current law that exists?

What the current law actually says depends from state to state.

I would think/hope that most states have provisions for people who are underage and are handling alcohol with no intention to consume it, e.g. stock boys working at a grocery store. I was a stock boy at Rose's when I was in high school. I honestly don't remember whether they sold alcohol or not, but should I have been arrested if I had handled a case of alcohol? When I was an RA, I occasionally confiscated and disposed of alcohol. Should I have been arrested?

I think even as the law exist. The relevant law, whatever it should be, is intended to ensure a child isn't put in harms way. Not even if the dad gave a sip would this kid be in harms way. Given that, he should be able to in my mind.

Depends. If it was Natty Lite or PBR then you should have been commended and given a medal. If was Moose Drool or Alaska Oatmeal Stout then yes you should have been arrested and charged with homicide because you're killing me! :P

I don't care if you're a Democrat or a Republican... if you refuse to consider alternatives to the two parties, you support the Status Quo and you are a major part of the problem.

No I haven't driven a citation, but I always thought it was funny that four pretty decent-sized Hokie guys drove down to Shreveport for the Independence Bowl in 1993 in a Chevy Cavalier. LOL

I think... think I may have had one as a rental long ago.

Driven? No but ridden in a bunch. Carpool partner in AZ had an 85 Citation sedan with a hatchback. It wasn't that bad, it got us there and back in one piece. The car he drove when he wasn't the carpool driver was an '88 blue Yugo GV. :)

A drinking age set at 21 is almost unheard of throughout the world. Drinking ages didn't exist for most of history.
Many states have various exceptions for <21 drinkers. In Virginia, a parent or 21+ spouse can give their child/spouse a drink as long as they're on private property that doesn't make or sell alcohol.

LOL! :D

I never rode in the Yugo it was basically his car to meet us at the carpool. The Citation belonged to his wife and he would switch out with her on his driving day which was Tuesday.
