Where's Bill Clinton, America's last great fiscal conservative president, when we need him?

Bill Clinton got shellac'ed in 1994 elections. Democrats lost the House majority to the Republicans for the first time in decades. Bill Clinton was a hostage to his own political failures.

It's a shame Hillary never accepted her failures.

The current GOP is being led to the slaughterhouse by a small number of idiots led by a huge idiot that has never cared about fiscal responsibility, yet gets away with calling others RINOs. It's high comedy for sure.

You live in a fantasy world if you think the GOP's problems started in 2016. The GOP led themselves to their current travails in the House. Your argument is that Trump will fail to do what practically everyone else has done over the prior 30 years. You're okay with being $33 trillion in debt, you just want someone besides Trump to sink us deeper.HokieFanDC wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 10:16 pmBill Clinton did the unthinkable by compromising with the last GOP Congress to even remotely care about fiscal responsibility.HokieJoe wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 6:31 pmMitt Romney wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 2:31 pm Where's Bill Clinton, America's last great fiscal conservative president, when we need him?

I've never said, or even gotten close to saying the GOP problems started in 2016.
I have said that the response to 9/11 was one of the biggest power grabs of my lifetime. And that the Citizens Unites ruling was the worst ruling in the last 40 years. I'm not OK with debt, at all.
And Trump didn't fail to do what the GOP hasn't done in decades. He literally didn't even try.
The GOP spends more time chasing boogeymen then trying to enact the GOP platform.

The Democrats spend tax dollars like a gold digging whore; and the GOP leadership have acted like their simps. No budgets, no single issue bills, no fixing the southern border, no nothing. Just empty words, broken promises and omnibus spending bills. Which conveniently alleviates accountability for individual politicians. But Trump is the bad one because he didn't do what they say they would do. The simple truth is, Trump rode decades worth of uniparty lies and mismanagement right into office. You can hate him all you like. He might be the worst POTUS ever- that does not change the sad reality of Washington DC.
