Maybe because News Corp (just like Comcast/Disney/Time Warner) cares more about profitability than any sort of journalism or ideology?

It's not ideology, it's competition. Does Verizon accept ads on its cell phones from att mobile?
If you go to a Buick dealer, would you be surprised to find ads for Toyota in the showroom?

Verizon selling ads to AT&T is a bit different than Fox News selling ads to Al Jazeera. But you knew that.
The other possibility is that it was a local ad run by your cable company and Fox News doesn't have any control over it.

Wouldn't it be more like ads for The Key Play showing up on TSL? I don't think TSL and the Sabre are going after the same market. In fact, aren't they part of the same company?
