I'm not a big reader but a friend suggest I read this one.
I had always heard the book was about censorship in the form of government mandated book burning. Fire departments acting in as DEA agents in a war on books . Maybe so, but it's more about propaganda and the dumbing down of society to where ideas that challenge the mainstream are not tolerated. Books offend people, encourage independent thought and complexity to a society that just wants to be happy. The public at large wants neatly packaged stories and quick endings.
