I always liked the federal Park side better, but nice place nonetheless. Did you know they give birth control to the ponies? I shirt you not..Homebrew wrote:Ponies have not stopped working.

Check the Rutgers data(if Obama hasn't shut that down too). The TS may have pushed in some cold water which pushes the redfish out.Homebrew wrote:Ponies have not stopped working.

I'll be lucky to cast. Winds going to be high and I'm using an old multiplier. Perhaps I'll surf with Swayze.awesome guy wrote:Check the Rutgers data(if Obama hasn't shut that down too). Seriously, I'll see what I can catch tomorrow. Nice idea about catching bait. I brought some packaged fingerling mullet as a baseline with plent of salt water lures.

Marching up the food chain is how you match the hatch while saltwater fishing. It gives me the best results, but a couple buddies got 1 and 2 trophy drum respectively on frozen finger mullet during the last blow. It was hard throwing out, but they got what they were looking for.Homebrew wrote:I'll be lucky to cast. Winds going to be high and I'm using an old multiplier. Or you can cheat and get a cast net. If have a couple buckets with bubble boxes. Will throw out the minnow trap for bull minnows and the cast net for mullet, bunker, etc. The bubble box will keep them alive for a day. Makes for the freshest bait out there;)

Waves very heavy today 5 oz pyramid sinkers were not cutting it. No bites on mullet, but I was dealing with 20 mph winds and the waves.awesome guy wrote:Marching up the food chain is how you match the hatch while saltwater fishing. My biggest heaver can throw 12 and bait:) But I want a Nail, it can literally throw a brick, it's pure carbon fiber, a rod for this situation.

What can I say, hadn't surf casted since Hawaii. Tackle box was sparse. Didn't need heavy weights in Hawaii.awesome guy wrote:Man up and throw a 10Homebrew wrote:. No sputnik weights in the tacklebox. Another day I will play.awesome guy wrote:8 n bait time. Drum love it rough.

I've fished in hurricane conditions before. We threw a 5, the wind lifted it and brought it back at us! It was a 100 yard cast that landed 10 feet in front of me. I started side arming to keep under the wind.

. Left early. 30mph sustained winds made tent camping a chore. May try some pier fishing this weekend in the bay.awesome guy wrote:How long are you staying?

North point state park has a 1000 ft pier. I may take the kayak into the Severn on Sunday to see if Stripers have moved into the river.awesome guy wrote:What bay piers are that far north? Go to the VA Severn, we've been catching stripers and redfish there all summer.Homebrew wrote:North point state park has a 1000 ft pier.
