Guaranteed income. What could possibly go wrong?

Post by oaktonhokie »

It's compassionate.

Wait for radicals to propose it here. It's compassionate.

And according to msnbc, the vote passed.

Golly, I wonder what will happen to people making $2700 for working hard... They can quit and go on welfare and make more money.... Or the employers will drastically raise their pay.

Any impact on the business, on prices, on unemployment, on the economy...?

Marxists are stupid.

For what it's worth it is lump sum so is "efficient". If you're earning $2700 and now make that plus the government lump sum payment. It's sort of like Bush's 2008 Stimulus.

Think there'll be any impact on profits, prices or employment?

I don't know a lot about their economy. I believe unemployment is fairly low (recollection) and they are growing (recollection) so it seems stupid to me.
