I am tempted to blame R governors for allowing shutdowns
of parks.
Can't mcdonnel tell the state cops NOT to close businesses?
Can't gov of sdakota tell the cops NOT to set cones along the highway to mt rushmore?
Where is the authority here?
The cops work for the state, right?
Grand canyon, who sets the barriers, who closed the businesses?
I think i'm angry at republicans.
Take a stand, please.

Are state police the ones doing the shutdowns? I thought it was park rangers.oaktonhokie wrote:of parks.

McConnell can't tell state cops to do anything. But it's federal law enforcement from DOI and Park Services that are shutting down the roads.oaktonhokie wrote:of parks.

George Wallace stood in the schoolhouse door, refusing to allow blacks at university of Alabama. Not sympathetic to Wallace, but he felt strongly enough to take a stand.
Federal troops were called in correctly, to force integration.
If governors refused to allow doi and park service to close parks, do you think our warrior king would send in the national guard to close down the grand canyon?

Haha. I brain farted and thought Mich McConnell for some reason. Wisconsin has done what you're saying. I agree we should do the same, assert our 10th ammendment rights.oaktonhokie wrote:George Wallace stood in the schoolhouse door, refusing to allow blacks at university of Alabama. I can't verify the following I heard today...
Rangers from the Wythe Ranger District of the Jefferson National Forest in Bland County tried to cordon off a road through the forest. The road is access through a narrow part of the forest and it connects one part of a farmers property with the other. The farmer's family was granted a right away through the area when the Jefferson National Forest was created (they were the original land owners).
The land owner called the Bland County Sheriff's Department to have the rangers picked up for trespassing...the Rangers tore down a fence and went through a jeep trail to Burke's Garden (Tazewell County)...several cattle got out and now it's gone from trespassing to criminal trespassing and criminal mischief.
This was supposed to have happened yesterday but I haven't heard a peep about it other than from friends over in Rich Valley.
Meanwhile down in TN this story is catching local and regional coverage.

A well placed tweet would direct media attention toward it.Major Kong wrote:Rangers from the Wythe Ranger District of the Jefferson National Forest in Bland County tried to cordon off a road through the forest. Obama can't call in the National Guard. The National Guard can only be called up by the Governor of a State for domestic services. The President can only activate the National Guard for Federal service in support of war.
