Listened to some of the new Kendrick Lamar album

Post by nolanvt »

I had previously heard of the guy, but wasn't too familiar with his work since rap's generally not my thing. As noted in the NYT review, it's interesting how he's transitioned from being a reluctant star into more of a change agent by taking on some of the themes in his new album "To Pimp a Butterfly" - particularly, elements within "institutionalized white terror". He may not end up being the next Tupac, but I think he's here to stay and will be a big player in the rap community for years to come.
