After doing a bunch of reading, comparing, testing and shopping I got a Cub Cadet Enduro Series LT 46 in. 22HP lawn tractor.
I compared John Deere, Cub Cadet, Husqvarna and Simplicity. The JD was a close 2nd but the seating position was much better on the Cub.
She has 3 acres on a slightly rolling hill and this will be perfect. It replaces a 12 years old Craftsman 42 in...20HP mower that just plain wore out and was going to be more expensive to fix. I gave the old mower to the local church to use as parts and the Kohler motor is still gooderly.

I should have added that her yard has very few flat spots and there are a lot of rills and little gully's.
Most of the yard is rolling but about an acre is steeper. OK for a lawn tractor but not a zero turn.

Sounds like a herd of goats are in order. No work and you can milk them or harvest them.
