had flounder for breakfast. May have some chili for lunch. My run of envious lunches is over for now. But that may all change tomorrow. FloHo's post reminded me that I haven't smoked any meat in a while. And contrary to other opinions, winter is the best time to smoke because it's easiest to control a low heat fire. The exception is brisket where I want more heat. But this polar vortex is going to be perfect for pork. Now to decide on ribs or a butt.
In related news, I think I've become addicted to venison. That stuff is just out this world good. So good I'm going to take up hunting to get my fix. And so I was having that conversation with my homeboys about hunting. One thing lead to another and we make a trip to GA or TX to hunt wild bore and deer. So then we can load up on cheap pork as well as venison and smoke them. VA has reintroduced elk and I may try hunting them too. That's supposed to better than venison to eat. Only one way to find out!
