I had some pretty significant back surgery on Cinco de Mayo...

Post by Major Kong »

I had 2 procedures done on my lumbar area due to severe stenosis.

Laminectomy on L3 thru L5. The neurosurgeon removed the lamina (back of the vertebra) to give the spinal column more room. He also cut away muscle, tendons and ligaments and then sewed back in place.

I came thru the surgery real well and I already feel much better in my right hip and down my right leg. The surgical area hurts like a mofo though but muscle relaxers and lortabs (10/325) every 4 hours are making that bearable. 🤕

Sleeping hasn't been a problem and I'm listening to my doctor and my nurse's (wife) instructions.

Great news, I've been avoiding that exact same procedure myself.
Unvaccinated,. mask free, and still alive.

It wasn't that bad AG and my surgeon and his team were most excellent.

It's the 1st time I ever woke up in recovery feeling better than when I went in...I knew immediately the procedure was a success (knock on wood)...no pain in my right hip that had been with me for a couple of years now.

The care I got on my overnight stay was excellent too...I highly recommend Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN.
