Just saw the movie elysium on TV.
Truly, one of the very worst movies I ever saw. Unbelievably bad.
If you bend over backwards long enough,
eventually you'll fall down.
eventually you'll fall down.

Haven't seen it. But it can't be worse than Ishtar and Life Aquatic.oaktonhokie wrote:Truly, one of the very worst movies I ever saw. Unbelievably bad.

Re: Just saw the movie elysium on TV.
It was in my opinion, an allegory for our immigration situation.
The rich people were almost all white, with an Asian or two if I recall correctly, and the poor and downtrodden folks left on earth had more blacks and Hispanics.
The mean white people would not let the others share in their wealth and kept them down totally, they were brutally mean and a totally uncaring. The rich people deprived the poor people of life saving medical technology. There was no overt racism in the movie, but it seems obvious to me that this was the United States as of the rich white satellite, and Mexico as the poor, wretched earthbound folks.
Everything worked out okay, as eventually all of the people from Earth were allowed to be citizens of Elysium. No borders.
The female lead was a dish, so it's got that going for it.
