I'm thinking tomorrow's full moon will be perfect for hunting soft shells. right time?

Can't help you there. Only thing we pull out of the harbor is bodies.

Yes sir, that’s how we roll in the 804! Seriously though, there are crabs in the James in downtown RVA (or really the bottom) . They're always in the river, but only get bay sized during summers of slightly below or less water. Because then enough saltwater push in for the shells to hardern. Otherwise, they just remain small. No way I would ever eat one from the James, but they're here.

Getting my oldest her first yak tomorrow and taking her crabbing in the bay. I may just dip and don't care if they're soft shells or not. I just hope we can focus on crabbing and yaking comes easy for her. Staying in the flats and bringing a tow line just in case.
