I honestly didn't care. I kind of took last year off and am slowly getting back into it this year.

our schedule set up this way and if you looked at our opponents 6-1 was a definite possibility, now that we are started the D is incredible and the O is slowly coming around (or enough to score just enough points) and the future is bright for VT football

I had GT penciled in as a loss because of the short week. (Road teams never win on a short week - ESPN loves to set these games up where you have a high-profile team playing on the road on a short week knowing that there's a better chance of the upset than if you play it on a Saturday.)

I was confident the defense would be as good as it is. The wishful thinking part of me thought the offense could get more than 6 offensive touchdowns per month with a senior QB and a new OC.

I thought our D could be great this year, and so far...it is.

The O, well...I can live with the idea that it is 'improving' and "a work in progress" b/c there are new coaches & etc. The OL talent cupboard is bare. Still. I didn't expect it to be so dang abysmal in the running game. The running game is not getting better to my untrained, non x's & o's way of seeing things.

yeah, I think they're too beat up to be effective. It's related to a bare cupboard as you say. But with 3 and outs, they should be well rested.
