Great night at lane.

Post by oaktonhokie »

Beautiful weather and a great effort by the he team.

A bit disappointed in the size...not the enthusiasm, of the crowd. Virtually no Miami fans. Maybe that's why the empty seats.

Good timing weather wise. Rainy and chilly this morning.

I noticed the empty seats in the corners too. Was the game "sold out."

If they were visitor seats, seems they could have recognized that they wouldn't be used and sell them at a discounted price.

From Roanoke times:

"The Hokies bounced back from the first true flop of the Justin Fuente era with a 37-16 win against the Hurricanes before an announced crowd of 63,507 at Lane Stadium, their first win against Miami in four tries on Thursday nights."

Was good to see Frank on TV. He looked good.

Was even better to see those passes down the middle of the field. Our O looks a lot different. No longer the weak link.

I don't know what "announced" means, either.

I doubt there were quite that many. Still a good crowd, but i expected more students. The ones that were there acquitted themselves very well.

Students not taking their full allotment has to be some sort of structural problem. Shame on us if it is because the school is charging too much for the tickets. This is for them just as much as it is for us, not to mention the casual fan.

And while I'm criticizing the VT admin, they deserve a lot of credit for the Fuente (and Buzz) hires. I'm excited to see how this team closes and how our bball team does in the winter.

Students all want to pack it into the NEZ. So the empty spots in the SEZ are all tickets that are in the hands of students, but they instead overfill the NEZ. The NEZ has twice as many people in it as it allegedly holds and the upper SEZ is empty.

The left corner of the east side is the same thing ... the right corner of the east side was visiting tickets that were not sold.
