Come one, come all, the 2017 edition of UWS NCAA Tournament Pick 'em is up!

The group name is "United We Stand (uwsboard.com)". The group ID is 102847. The top-level link is https://tournament.fantasysports.yahoo.com and the link below should get you in. If you played last year, check your email for an invitation.

https://tournament.fantasysports.yahoo. ... oc_trk=lnk

Go Hokies! Beat Wisconsin!

(By the way, last year, because we didn't know any better, we used some ridiculous scoring system where each round was worth as many points as the previous round combined. This year, we're doing the normal where the first round is 1 point, the second is 2, the third is 3, the fourth is 4, etc.)

Thank you but me thinks it's too early to crown me the winner yet. :mrgreen:

Who is Tony? Please pick one bracket.

Never mind ... I see these are two people named Tony.

Can you please change your name to your UWS user name?

You did this? I'm surprised. I thought you only did games where someone else picked for you.

Please update your security settings to hide your email address. To do that, please go to your bracket, choose "Edit My Info", then uncheck "Allow others in groups I join to see my email address".

I had assumed (incorrectly) that the only reason I could see email addresses was because I was the group administrator, but that is not actually the case.

If you uncheck this check box, then your email address will be hidden from everyone (including me).

I received an angry PM from one person this morning accusing me of giving out his name and email address for my "stupid game". I can only assume that this is in reference to the message Yahoo sent inviting anyone who had played previously to rejoin. Obviously, I didn't deliberately distribute anything and I had assumed that it would send out separate emails to each individual, not one email cc'ing everyone. (I can't see the emails that were sent out so I have no idea what it sent.) If your name/email was distributed by this Yahoo email, I humbly apologize.

I do strongly suggest hiding your email address in your security settings.

I think I gave everyone my "real name" too.

Doh!

Does it look like I'm safe now?

Dave, I have convoluted this entry thing to the point that I don't know where I am. Please delete the "Tony's Top-Notch Bracket" entered on Monday. I presume it would eventually get me to your pool, but not sure. I know the other will. Sorry for the trouble.

This is done.

Everyone now has their emails hidden. Who are the people who don't give their screen names?

I don't know who these are:

Allah
Robert
Rich

These people are known:

BigDave = "David"
BayAreaHokie = "Jimbo"
Major Kong = "Hephaestus"
IP Law Hokie = "Jason" - our defending champion!
nolanvt = "Nolan"
HokieFanDC = "Mark"
Riverguy = "Riverguy"
UpstateSCHokie = "UpstateSCHokie"
awesome guy = "Awesome"
RWNJ = "Tony"

Missing from last year - we want you back!

Vienna
Hoke CPA
Elberto
Jmac

I'm pretty sure that the rest of the NCAAs have been canceled and it's now pre-football season. ;)

But, for the sake of tradition, here are our standings after one day of action:

1. BigDave (13)
2. BayAreaHokie (12)
2. NolanVT (12)
2. Hephaestus / Major Kong (12)
2. Awesome Guy (12)
2. Riverguy (12)
2. HokieFanDC (12)
8. Jason / IP Law Hokie (11)
8. WestEndHokie (11)
8. UpstateSCHokie (11)
8. Tony / RWNJ (11)
8. Rich (who is this?) (11)
13. Robert / Elberto (13)
14. Allah / USN (5)

After the first round of play, it's still a pretty close game. Remember that round two games are worth two points, so the difference can be made up in a hurry.

There is enough diversity in final four picks that so far, everyone is still alive!

1. BigDave (27) - Kansas over Villanova, Gonzaga and UCLA
2. NolanVT (26) - Arizona over Loserville, Villanova and UCLA
3. BayAreaHokie (25) - Duke over Kansas, FSU and UCLA
3. Riverguy (25) - Loserville over Arizona, Duke and UCLA
5. Hephaestus / Major Kong (24) - Arizona over UNC, Duke and Kansas
5. HokieFanDC (24) - Duke over UCLA, Loserville and Gonzaga
7. Awesome Guy (23) - Virginia Tech over Cincinnati, Kansas and Notre Dame
7. Robert / Elberto (23) - Duke over UCLA, Kansas and FSU
7. Rich / Valencia (23) - Duke over Kansas, Arizona and UCLA
10. WestEndHokie (22) - UNC over Gonzaga, Duke and Kansas
10. UpstateSCHokie (22) - UNC over Arizona, Duke, and Kansas
12. Jason / IP Law Hokie (21) - UNC over Arizona, Villanova and Kansas
12. Tony / RWNJ (21) - Duke over UNC, Kansas and Gonzaga
14. Allah / USN (14) - Duke over UCLA, WVU and Michigan St
