Stanley Cup Playoff Thread

Post by nolanvt »

Will probably consist of a lot of posts by me, but let's give it a whirl.

After watching the Caps (stink) for most of the year, the Western Conference plays at a different level. Blues/Blackhawks and Kings/Sharks should each be a great series.

This gesture caught on camera resulted in a $25k fine.

Actual nutshot with actual harm done = $5k fine.

#fancystats (the puck possession metrics like Corsi and Fenwick) suggest the Rangers winning this series against the Pens wouldn't be an upset, especially considering the Rangers have a better goalie.

Can't say I thought we had a shot down 3-1.

I'm glad. Maybe Pittsburgh will overreact and fire Bylsma. The Caps have a coaching vacancy...

So who should we be rooting for out west. Who is the better opponent for the Rangers?

Both would beat the Rangers, but you'd have a better shot against the Kings.

The teams in the West are stronger, but with King Henrik the Rangers definitely have a chance.

Yup. Hank will be the reason the Rangers win if they do. Both the Blackhawks and Kings' skaters are much better than the Rangers'.
