Re: World Cup Thread
I can now go back to not caring about soccer
Seriously, though, the ending was reasonably exciting.

I can see how you could get into it.BigDave wrote:I can now go back to not caring about soccer

With their Cap’n and Chief Intelligence Officer having deserted them, River, Ham and Joe valiantly continue their whataboutismistic last stand of the DJT apology tour.

Brazil proved they're soccer crazy with the announcement after the game for German fans to stay in the stadium until they could be escorted out.Major Kong wrote:7-1 FT I didn't see this one coming at all.nolanvt wrote:What the frig is going on? 7-0!?!?

Still 0-0 +64 minutes in...dang if this isn't boring but the crowd scenes of the Argentine fans are great.

Germany 1-0 scoring in the second extra time period.
Germany was the better team and I'm glad they won it w/o going to penalty kicks.

I did not watch the game, but some sports are fascinating with low scores.
Hong, you are baseball guy, I like a one to nothing pictures duel. It magnifies everything. Every pitch, every strike, every ground ball, every error, every walk... Very exciting
I think that soccer is similar. I don't think a 10 to 9 soccer game would be exciting at all. But I am not a soccer guy so what do I know?

If you bend over backwards long enough,
eventually you'll fall down.

Agreed. I can accept low-scoring games if there's good action.oaktonhokie wrote:I did not watch the game, but some sports are fascinating with low scores.
